Dan Lockyer
Executive Director
A proud Albuquerque native, Dan brings more than 20 years of senior living experience to our community. Throughout his career, he has been dedicated to advocating for residents, supporting families, and building compassionate teams that genuinely care about the people they serve.When he's not at Amaran, Dan enjoys spending time with his two sons, Leo and Terren. Together, they love exploring the outdoors through camping, hiking, and swimming. Dan steps into this role with a clear focus: honoring the spirit and values of the Amaran community while fostering an environment of growth, collaboration, and excellence for residents, families, and team members alike. He is committed to strengthening relationships, enhancing the resident experience, and ensuring Amaran remains a place that residents are proud to call home.
From the early age of 18, I fell in love with caring for seniors living with dementia and have had the honor of helping those with care needs, either in an assisted living or a memory care, for 24 years. I have had the pleasure of working many different positions, but above all, I found being a Business Office Manager to be my favorite.
I am happily married to my husband Carl and have one son, who is my pride and joy. I enjoy arts & crafts, spending time with my family and volunteering at our church. I love the wonderful team I get to be a part of and the opportunity to build beautiful friendships with our amazing Elders here at Amaran.

Since I was a child, I have loved cooking, especially for my family. I still do, but now that I have added Amaran as my extended family, my kitchen table has grown a lot larger. I feel so fortunate that the universe aligned itself and the opportunity to work at Amaran came knocking at my door. Amaran is the first senior living community I’ve ever worked for, and I enjoy the combination of my love for food and serving our Elders.
I graduated from Le Cordon Blue in Los Angeles, CA and have over 20 years in the culinary & hospitality industry. When not cooking or baking, you can find me modifying cars and tending to my pets. Food is my love language.
Growing up in the mountains of Placitas, New Mexico, I was surrounded by vast spaces where my friends and I could run and play freely. Those childhood days were filled with the warmth of community and the stories of our neighbors. These experiences taught me the importance of connection and the value of community, regardless of age.
This deep appreciation for community is what led me to Amaran. I was drawn to the idea of creating a space where residents could build their own stories and relationships, much like the ones I cherished from my childhood. Starting as the receptionist, I had the opportunity to connect with residents and their families, and now, as the Sales and Marketing Director, I’m able to cultivate these relationships from the very beginning.
Outside of work, I’m a proud mother of two amazing teenage boys. When we are not at a football or wrestling function you will find us at home relaxing. Balancing my professional life with the joys and challenges of motherhood keeps me busy, but it’s a life I wouldn’t trade for anything.

Being a part of Amaran has brought such joy to me—learning and listening to the residents, talk about family, jobs, relationships and hearing about all the things they’ve learned through their years and the wisdom they want to pass on, is one of the best parts of the job.
My passion and dedication to creating a great living environment for residents led me to the role of Activities Director with Amran Senior living. I have a background in art, media, and design and I hold a degree from the Art Institute of Chicago. With a deep appreciation for creativity and social interactions.
Providing the community with special events, outings, and daily mind, body, and spiritual programming that promote the physical and emotional well-being of residents.
I am dedicated to bringing new and creative ideas to the community, introducing fresh classes and activities that highlight the unique skills and talents of each resident. Whether through wellness programs, art workshops, or health initiatives, I strive to bring out joy and individual potential in every resident. My work is centered around enhancing the quality of life for every resident.
I am originally from India, where a deep respect for elders was instilled in me from a young age. Growing up, I cherished the time spent with my grandparents, especially during holidays when I took care of them with love and compassion. This upbringing fostered my strong connection to the elderly and their well-being.
With 5 years of experience as a Montessori teacher and 8 years overall in early childhood education, I now serve as an Intergenerational Montessori Director. In this role, I bring together children and senior residents, fostering meaningful intergenerational connections. I am particularly passionate about developing activities that enrich the lives of senior residents, especially those with dementia, drawing from both my professional experience and cultural background.
As I embark on my new journey in AMARAN senior assisted living, I am excited to continue my mission of nurturing and supporting the elderly, making a positive impact on their lives.

Sherrie L. Miller
Health Service Director
Sherrie L. Miller is a dedicated healthcare leader whose passion for senior care began through her personal experience caring for her beloved aunt, who lived with dementia and Parkinson’s disease. After 25 years as an Escrow Manager, Sherrie felt called to make a career change and pursue nursing.
In 2012, while raising four daughters, Sherrie attended nursing school during the day while working night shifts. Her determination and compassion led her to a rewarding career focused on serving seniors and their families.
Memory care holds a special place in Sherrie’s heart. Her experience taught her that individuals living with dementia are much more than their diagnosis. She believes every person deserves dignity, respect, purpose, and meaningful human connection.
Today, Sherrie combines her leadership experience, nursing expertise, and personal caregiving experience to advocate for seniors and support families through their journey. Her mission is simple: to help every resident feel valued, cared for, and respected every day.
As the youngest of seven siblings, I never had the privilege of knowing my grandparents. For the past 40 years, I have been blessed to work in the same facility, where I had the honor of caring for many elders who became like adoptive grandparents to me.
Today, I am grateful for the opportunity to continue building those special relationships and welcoming more elders into my life as “adoptive grandparents.”
It has been both a privilege and a blessing to help provide a clean, safe, and healthy living environment, surrounded by a dedicated team that works together to make a difference in the lives of those we serve.

I’ve had the privilege of living abroad and experiencing life in different cultures, but my heart ultimately led me back to New Mexico—a place I cherish for its beauty and strong sense of community. Outside of work, you’ll often find me cycling along the bosque, hiking, or crocheting at home with my two senior kitties. What inspires me most about working in senior living is the opportunity to learn from the incredible life experiences our residents bring with them. Their stories, wisdom, and resilience are a true gift—not only to our community, but to me personally. I believe aging should be honored, and that every person deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued. I am proud and grateful to contribute to that mission by fostering meaningful relationships, maintaining thoughtful communication, and ensuring our operations reflect the high standards of care we promise.
